Compare Full Body Tracking Setups

Compare the whole setup: the tracking system, the body roles you want to measure, the equipment it needs, and the work involved in using it. A tracker count or a low headline price answers only part of the decision.

Not sure what to compare yet?

Your headset, target app and existing equipment narrow the choice. Use the buying guide first, then compare the remaining options on the same basis.

1. Compare the tracking systems

SlimeVR and VIVE Tracker 3.0 have different setup requirements. The useful questions are what you already own, what else you must buy, where you will use the system, and which calibration or mounting steps you will repeat.

Compare this Ask the same question about both options
Required equipment Which headset connection, computer, network, base stations, receivers and software does this exact route need?
Complete purchase cost What is missing from the offer, including mounts and accessories needed to use all the devices?
Room and movement Does the system depend on external tracking visibility, and what happens during the movements you plan to make?
Regular setup What must you wear, connect, align or calibrate at the start of a session?
Evidence Is the statement an official requirement, a published specification, or a result from a named hardware test?

The comparison is specific to the named systems. A requirement for VIVE Tracker 3.0 does not automatically describe every product sold under the VIVE name. Documented features also do not establish a winner for untested movements.

2. Compare body-sensor configurations

A five-, six-, eight- or ten-sensor layout adds particular body roles. First decide which movements matter to you; then see what an additional role measures. Keep wearable devices, wired sensor extensions and application output points separate when counting.

Compare tracker counts and body roles →

Use the body-location guide alongside the count comparison if you want to see where those roles sit. Before increasing a kit size to fix an existing fault, check the troubleshooting guide; an extra sensor does not identify a wrong assignment or a slipping mount.

3. Compare the route and complete budget

Leave with a specific choice

You should be able to name your headset/app route, the selected tracking system, the body roles you will wear, and the remaining equipment to buy. If one of those is still unclear, return to Choose your kit before ordering.
